VR COASTERS - VRCoasters.com

Not much relating to this is visible yet but I began development a few weeks ago in a rotation between other tasks like the horror pack, winter freebies, water fx update, other 3d asset pack updates to furniture, marshes/meadows packs, and early stage work on a 2026 texture pack, plus incremental progress on some other gamedev stuff.

WHAT IS THIS?

A set of [initially] five roller coasters in VR for Quest, at a $1 price point that may later rise to $1.49. So 20-30 cents per included ride. Unlike existing roller coaster experiences on Meta Quest, this is prerendered (not realtime) and uses a system of 3d video in full 360 degrees, rendered out from scenes with some really crazy detailed 3d work of the sort that'd never run in realtime on a headset. That makes it look impressive as a quick demo of VR interface to show off, but the downside of prerendered material built out from source scenes with millions of polygons, is that while it'll run natively directly on the headset in 360-video form the filesize used will be higher than realtime equivalents. It's inherent to the format and not much can be done to fix that without compromising visual fidelity.
